In the Northern Hemisphere, many States and Provinces capitalize on the changing of seasons.

As the foliage abandons its green color to become yellow, orange, and brown, travel destinations find it to be a huge source of revenue.

But did you know that God has plenty to say about the changing of seasons? Called autumn by some, we can find great encouragement in Bible verses about fall.

Are you feeling weary right now?

  • Have you been working hard to financially make ends meet?
  • Do you have several little children that require all your time and you feel run ragged?
  • Does everyone come to you with their problems and sometimes you just want peace and quiet or someone to listen to you for a change?
  • Are you not getting enough sleep?
  • Has your teenager decided that you just don’t understand the real world?

There may be millions of scenarios that can cause a Christian to feel weary.

Ecclesiastes 3:1

The Bible does not tell us the time frame when change is coming, but we can be assured that our circumstances will not last forever.

Every year, God should get the Teacher of the Year award. In Scripture, He uses many “word pictures” to help us understand spiritual truths. Bible verses about fall are just one example.

Isaiah 40:8

In the fall flowers stop blooming and many grasses die as colder weather moves onto the calendar. God uses this to remind us of something very encouraging.

Genesis 8:22

At the beginning of time, God set in motion rhythms that regulate the world we live in. It gives us a sense of stability that comes from our faithful God.

James 5:7-8

As Christians, we have a great promise that one day Jesus will return to take us to be with Him.

” … Be patient as you wait for the Lord’s return. Consider the farmers who patiently wait for the rains in the fall and in the spring. They eagerly look for the valuable harvest to ripen. … Take courage, for the coming of the Lord is near.” NLT

When seeds are planted in the spring, the farmer has to wait for the harvest.

Likewise, God has a “right time” for Jesus to return to get us. But we can be sure that just as fall eventually rolls around onto our calendars, so will the return of Jesus.
